Artist Knox

CSU, Fullerton

Artist KnoxIn his interview with Dr. Michael Burroughs, Artist Knox discusses his experiences growing up in South Central Los Angeles and how his childhood impacted his life trajectory. As a young child, Knox was subjected to traumatic experiences including drug addiction, gang violence, and food insecurity amongst a myriad of other issues. Despite this adversity, Knox relied on his familial role models and honed street smarts to navigate life in South Central. While incarcerated at Folsom State Prison, Knox corresponded with Project Rebound and, upon his release, adopted the Outreach Coordinator and Juvenile Justice Advocate positions at California State University, Fullerton to ensure that juveniles held in detention centers are exposed to educational opportunities that can positively impact their lives.
