In his interview with Chris Livingston, Phillip Wagner discusses the negative impacts of his childhood environment and how that affected him. He shares his love for mathematics and how it was an outlet during his incarceration. Wagner shares experiences of his first day at California State University, Bakersfield and compares his differences with other students. Wagner credits Project Rebound coordinator Michael Dotson as his main motivator in keeping him focused on his educational pursuits. Wagner is very active with the CSUB campus community and is currently working as a peer mentor for incoming students.
