Park Subdivision 1

Park Subdivision 1 was a racially restricted (white-only) neighborhood. The covenant reads, section 6, “No part of any of said lots or building sites shall ever at any time be sold, conveyed, leased or rented to any person not of the White or Caucasian race, except such as are in the employ of the resident tenants of said lots.” Section 7 reads, “No part of any of said lots or building sites shall ever at any time used or occupied, or be permitted to be used or occupied, by any person not of the White or Caucasian race, except such as are in the employ of the resident owners or resident tenants of said lots as domestic servants.”  Explore interactive map
